@44.09 - this brings to mind the differences between the chef and the diner. The chef needs to know what ingredients, in what amounts, at what stage, at what temperature, for how long etc. but the diner's experience of that is entirely sensory - olfactory, tactile, gustatory, aesthetic etc. with no knowledge of the making and no need to know the making to immerse in the feast

I love this metaphor! It brings forward the idea that sometimes knowing "how" something is put together can take away from the participatory experience of being with it as it is. Then after fully participating in a great meal, I can then feel excited about diving into figuring out how it was put together.
